Genesis 5:1-32

What does it mean to be part of the family of promise? Genesis 5 reveals that although our humanity is more broken than we’d dare admit, the family of promise is more loved than we’d dare hope. The only way to become part of this family is by faith in the promised one, Jesus Christ.

In the Old Testament and New, the family of promise consists of those who have trusted in the promise of God. Ultimately, Jesus the promised one is not only the greater Adam, inaugurating a new humanity; he is the greater Noah who brings spiritual rest from the curse of sin. All who repent of their sins and believe upon him shall be saved.
