Deacons

The greatest in the kingdom are servants — particularly serving the people of God. God's Word routinely highlights the need for serving others in the Christian life. But the Jesus does more than give a bare and dry command for believers to serve; he goes on to give living and breathing examples within the church of how to serve one another. These living and breathing examples encourage provide a model to others on how to serve others effectively and fruitfully. These people are called deacons.

This week, we are going to look at the design, purpose, and function of deacons so that the church is unified in its mission, that the elders are devoted to teaching and prayer, and that the body of Christ is served well.
