IN EVERY SEASON.

Faithfulness and fruitfulness in every season.

THE NECESSITY OF A WOMEN'S MINISTRY

Roots and Fruits is the women's ministry of Fireside that focuses on planting roots in the Scriptures.  In numerous places, the New Testament addresses women in the church specifically as women, calling them to live as godly women and  to teach this godliness to one another (Titus 2:3-5). In Titus 2, Paul instructs Titus to lead the church in such a way that men and women are serving specifically as godly men and godly women, and specifically as godly older and younger men and women.

This apostolic command for older women to teach younger women “what is good” (Titus 2:3) arrives in the context of a letter that glories in the "sound doctrine"  (Titus 2:1) of the gospel and how they’re lived out in all the ordered layers of God’s people together in a local worshiping body.

This specific emphasis implies needed time for women to be together and teach each other, primarily though the communication and prayerful application of God’s Word, with an eye toward knowing Christ and honoring him in all our relationships and responsibilities.

FAITHFULNESS AND FRUITFULNESS

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8
